How do you respond to stress?

Leonard Bernstein once said, “To achieve great things, two things are needed: a plan and not quite enough time.”

Do you hear the buzzing in your brain? The numbness in your ear? Perhaps dizziness or blurred vision as the stress closes in? Do you start to feel like you’re detaching while your body pushes forward? How do you respond to it? What do you have to do? What do you WANT to do?

I remember my days in corporate finance when I would take the elevator down to the lobby and lose myself in one of the abstract paintings. My eyes would follow the shifting colors and twisting shapes as my mind attempted to reorganize the chaos and connect with my heart. I would stay until I felt grounded again.
